Hello, I’m Anne Cunningham, a Play Therapist and founder of An Seomra Spraoi in Midleton, Co. Cork.

I offer a warm, accepting space where children can explore their feelings and experiences through play and creativity. Children don’t always have the words to explain what is troubling them. Play gives them a way to express themselves, feel understood and move at their own pace.

My work focuses on children’s emotional wellbeing. Families may seek support when a child is experiencing anxiety, grief or loss, changes in family life, difficulties in relationships, or experiences that feel overwhelming.

A steady presence and responsive connection are central to my approach. I have a special interest in trauma-informed practice and the importance of safety, trust and relationships. My work is supported by regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional learning.

Before becoming a Play Therapist, I spent over 25 years in secondary education. I began teaching Irish and History and moved into learning support soon afterwards, working in a DEIS school. This experience deepened my understanding of young people and the importance of seeing each child as a whole person.

I am also a mother of four children and a fluent Irish speaker. Sessions are available through English or Irish.
